“I went into the training feeling I have worked in this field for many years and know my stuff but it was interesting to look discuss who the perpetrators are. It opened my eyes a bit as I hadn’t thought about this stuff for years. Very good refresher”

Safeguarding Adults is full day course suitable for anyone working with vulnerable adults.  It is a good refresher or foundation for new starters.

When we think about who a vulnerable adult could be, most people respond and say ‘someone who is elderly and infirm’. Whilst the elderly population is one of the largest group of vulnerable people there are other groups to consider; any adult who needs care and support for physical or mental disabilities is vulnerable to abuse, as well as many other groups. The abusers could be anyone from a neighbour, carer or even family member. We need to make sure that we recognise the signs of abuse, challenge it (if safe to do so) and report it.
