“As a social worker this was hardly talked about during my degree. I qualified a year ago and most of my cases have involved domestic abuse to varying degrees. I wish I could have done this course before I started practicing it would have helped me understand the parents I work with.”
Full or half day course perfect if you’re looking to cover your organisations expectations under the Welsh Assembly “Ask & Act” legislation, 2015 or you simply want to upskill your employees knowledge of Domestic Abuse Awareness.
This is a course suitable for everyone. Victims of domestic abuse are vulnerable adults and as such should be protected as you would any other vulnerable person. At Camau we recognise gender based violence but also acknowledge that men are victims too and like many domestic abuse victims men can feel shame in coming forward. We wish to encourage all victims to speak out and get the support they so greatly need. We also promote educating young people that this behaviour is not acceptable. Perpetrators of abuse need to recognise and acknowledge their behaviour and stop victim blaming. There are many complex issues around why victims stay with the perpetrator and this training will help you to understand that. We use a non-discriminatory approach to our training.
